Butyrate, being a cellulosic, is friendly to most fabrications.

The days are past when one could purchase butyrate fittings such as elbows and tees, nevertheless, butyrate pipe can be connected to metal or PVC pipe by means of compression fittings, slip fit and O-ring type plastic-metal adapters. But threading is also a viable way to go. Here we have a young John Busada working outside a 60’s station wagon in Louisiana.

We thread up to 4″ pipe in house. Below we have threaded Tees and Wyes of butyrate used for a hydraulic system. The green color was added during the annealing process (we can add any transparent color or keep it clear). We anneal the tube to strengthen and smoothen the threads. Also, below you can view our threaded flanges, by far the most durable type of connection for a plastics pipe to either PVC, steel, or other material.
